The National Coordinator for The Green Republic Project (TGRP), a Ghanaian Non-Governmental Organization has call on the international community to collectively put in more aggressive actions to fight climate across the globe.
Addressing the media after the Global Landscape Forum in Accra, the Coordinator Mr. Abdul-Latif Alhassan downplayed the piece mail approach of nations and stakeholders fighting crisis in the country and around the globe.
He said “We do not have enough time at our disposal to keep dragging our feet in the climate fight or else we will lose it and the repercussions will be too drastic for us to bare.”
He highlighted that the only way we can win the war against climate is to be more proactive in our approach, adding that: “We have had enough of the global statistics and political talks on climate change; it is now time for us to collectively get involve in more action driven initiatives by observing the International Day for forests by restoring the planet menace.”
He further advised the GLFAccra2019 host nation to join the clarion call by the convener of the Green Republic Project to set aside 1st of July as a National Tree Planting Day in Ghana, this he believe will go a long way to aggressively restore planet earth and safe us from the negative consequences of the climate change.
