The Municipal Chief Executive for Sagnarigu, Hajia Mariam Iddrisu has commended the 2020 Sagnarigu Constituency Parliamentary Aspirant of the New Patriotic Party, Mrs. Fecilia Tetteh for evacuating the age-long garbage at Paring, a suburb of the municipality.
The MCE underscored the importance of good hygiene and maintained this is critical to the growth of the municipality, adding that, the desire of the NPP parliamentary hopeful to prioritize sanitation is laudable.
Hajia Mariam explained the sanitation challenge in the municipality is a major bottleneck to development. However, she noted the intervention of Mrs. Tetteh cannot be underestimated and further described it as a milestone achievement in the fight to eliminate filth in the area.
She said the limited resources of the assemble is not substantial enough to meet every development aspect of the people, therefore, saying the area can only develop to an appreciable level through the involvement of development partners such as the NPP parliamentary candidate.
She added the intervention of the MP hopeful falls in line with the vision of the Akufo Addo government and the Sagnarigu municipal assembly and assured that the assembly is ready to collaborate with Madam Tetteh in her subsequent projects and any other development partner in the area to mitigate the impoverishment of the people.
“When you have a parliamentary candidate of a political party prioritizing the health, sanitation and wellbeing of the people, it is encouraging and I think the people should entrust their votes to her. Leadership is about championing the development aspirations of the people and if Mrs. Felicia Tetteh as a PC can do this, I think she can do more if she is voted to represent the people of Sagnarigu in parliament. She has proven that women in leadership can do better off than men” the MCE posited.
The Chief of Paring, Naa Abubakari Fuseini and residents of the community said the ability of Mrs. Tetteh to evacuate the heaps of garbage has brought a great relief to them, pledging to give her their votes in this year’s general elections.
According to the community members, several appeals were made to the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon A.B.A Fuseini, stating he turned a deaf ear to their plea.
