The Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Salifu Saeed has been appointed by President Nana Akufo Addo as the acting Minister for the Upper East region, effective Friday, October 4, 2019. This is to allow the Minister for the Upper East, Hon Tangoba Abayage undertake her annual leave.
The Minister is expected to begin her leave on 7 October, 2019 and resume work on Thursday, 31 October, 2019. Within the period, Mr. Saeed is expected to perform all government business in the region and administer the affairs of the Regional Coordinating Council.
At a short ceremony in Bolgatanga the regional capital, Madam Abayage handed over her duties to the acting Minister. She introduced the minister to the management and staff of the Bolgatanga Coordinating Council and urged them to give the minister their maximum cooperation.
On his part, the caretaker minister thanked President Nana Akufo Addo for reposing such confidence in him. He called on the staff to work hard to enhance the growth and development of the region. He said government is committed to its transform agenda of accelerating development in every part of the country.
