I Need media collaboration to move Kumasi forward : Kumasi Mayor
The new Mayor of Kumasi Hon Richard Ofori Agyemang popularly known as King Zuba has called on the media in Kumasi to collaborate with him and the KMA to work towards rebranding of Kumasi to its glorious status as a garden city. This he said would catapult the city into a more befitting area which serves as the seat of a great traditional ruler the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll.
He has since outlined some measures to be rolled out immediately to tackle the ever escalating situation so as to bring some sanity to the city.
These include clean up exercise ,desilting of chocked gutters decongestion regulating of traffic situations among other things.
Hon Ofori Agyemang was addressing the media in Kumasi as part af activities marking his first day at office as the Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly .
The Hon Mayor unequivocally sounded a word of caution to traders who ply their businesses on the shoulders of the street or on the median to as a matter of urgency relocate from such unauthorized places before they incur the wrath of KMA which could possibly lead to an uncompromising and unconventional way of driving them away from the unapproved areas.
Having given them up to next week Wednesday to relocate he has equally tasked owners of stray animals particularly cattle to restrain their animals from loitering around in the city.
Failure to do so the Assembly would be compelled to catch the animals and donate them to charity.
The KMA Boss pledged an open door policy and asked for all hands on desk in the quest to build a modern city of Kumasi.
