EP Moderator calls on Ghanaians to rally behind Mahama’s government

Ghanaians have been admonish to rally strongly behind the government of President John Dramani Mahama to steer the affairs of the nation to the promise land if the change they voted for is to be actualized.

The call was made by the acting Synod Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian church (EP) Rev Christopher Mawunyo Nyonyo at the 15th Presbytery Synod of the Ashanti Presbytery of the EP Church in Kumasi.

Speaking on the theme “care for God’s creation , the task and mission of the church. “.Rev Mawunyo Nyonyo made a passionate appeal to government to as matter of urgency ban illegal mining to save the environment from further damage and degradation.
By doing so .there is the need for government to create alternative livelihood for the teaming youth through its 24hour economic policy championed by the government during the electioneering campaign.

Rev Nyonyo also urged the president to revisit the issues of LGBTQ and ensure that the bill is accented to so as to take swift actions on people who would fall fowl of the law.

Touching on the theme. The Moderator bemoaned the challenges and far reaching consequences of climate change and therefore challenge Christian to rise up to the task in order to help arrest the situation.

Other speakers including the Chief of Gyankobaa Nana Oboduor Atwimakwaa Boakye-Darkwa who was the Guest speaker reminded Christian of their stewardship role assigned them by God and that this must aid them in all their endeavours to bear fruit that caters fo conservation of the environment and renewable energy.

The synod is a period where the leadership of the church meet to take stock and formulates ideas for the years ahead.
