
As part of his Ashanti regional development dialogue which seeks to involve stakeholders in governance process as far the Ashanti region is concerned, the Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene has engaged the media in Kumasi to lay bare his vision for the region.
Some of the areas he promised to tackle urgently include sanitation, agriculture, infrastructural development as well as security.
Dr Amoakohene disclosed that about 618 projects in the Ashanti region have been left at various stages of completion and for that matter has made a solemn pledge to meet all relevant installations to fix all such projects.
He also touched on rampant fire out break in the region as well as lawlessness which sometimes leads to needles death. These he said posses serious security challenge and the quest to foster development of the region: saying that, decisive steps were being taking to ensure a peaceful region for its accelerated development.
Hon Amoakohene however gave a two week ultimatum to illegal miners particularly those in the forest reserves to leave site or face the full rigors of the law. He recounted how such illegal mining activities are destroying the the environment particular rivers and water bodies.
As part of his resting agenda for the region, Dr Amoakohene promise to find amicable solution to the outrageous transport fares being charged by some short distance drivers within the Kumasi metropolis especially during rush hours.
