YOU CAN’T VICTIMIZE, BULLY AND INTIMIDATE US WITH OUR OWN MANDATE, POWERS AND STRENGTH DELIGATED ON YOU TO SERVE US.

The Caucus For Mature Democrats is very disappointed in the deliberately orchestrated plan by the Jean Mensah led electoral commission to disenfranchise many young Ghanaians who, for the first time attaining the age of 18 years, want to get their names into the electoral register for the upcoming 2024 general elections.

We want to caution the Jean Mensah led electoral commission that, they have no such power or authority to bully Ghanaians with such insensitivity simply because, they think they are an independent state institution. Let it be put on record on behalf of the good people of Ghana that, the Caucus For Mature Democrats wants EC to get it straight that, they are made an independent state institution by the people of Ghana and because of the people of Ghana.

Let it also be placed on record that, we will vehemently resist any such insensitive, arrogant and undemocratic attempts by Jean Mensah as a person or the electoral commission as an institution to deliberately disenfranchise Ghanaians like they did to the good people of SANTROKOFI, AKPAFU, LIKPE AND LOLOBI (SALL) who were later known to be people of the SALL region.

It is becoming increasingly very clear by the day, the arrogant and partisan posturing of the Jean Mensah led electoral commission, always attempting to align itself to the woefully failed akufo addo led ruling npp government who, through their corrupt practices and waste of taxpayers resources, collapsed the economy and subsequently collapsed the Bank of Ghana as well, making it financially INSOLVENT; instead of sticking and staying within their independent and neutral position.

In conclusion, the Caucus For Mature Democrats would like to once again, issue very serious words of caution to the Jean Mensah led electoral commission to be extra careful to stay within their constitutional mandate and line of duty, because we would never allow her commission to subvert our constitution, democracy and all electoral gains and successes chalked over several years.

Conclusively, the Caucus tells Jean Mensah as an individual and EC as an institution that; if you can’t grow our economy, improve our electoral gains made over several years in the democracy of our peaceful country, don’t dare destroy, collapse or destabilize it. WE WOULD RESIST ANY SUCH ATTEMPTS WITH THE LAST DROP OF BLOOD AND THE LAST GASP OF AIR LEFT IN US AS A CIVIL RIGHTS INSTITUTION.
